We request that guests help maintain the spirit of the wedding by arriving in semi-formal attire. Wives/Girlfriends: you can use this as an excuse to make your husband buy slacks that aren't stained with various car fluids (looking at you, Cory) and a blazer to go with it. Hawaiian shirts, shorts, cummerbunds, fedoras, suits of armor (wrong kind of suit), and girdles are prohibited.
What is weather like in October?
The wedding will take place out-of-doors, which means it will not be inside. Fall weather in Nevada City is typically mild, with a high around 297° Kelvin (75° F for us Imperial folks) during the day and a low of 50° F, or 507.9° above Absolute Zero in the evening. A light jacket for the end of the reception is recommended.
What can we expect at the ceremony?
Who knows. We're just kind of winging it. HOWEVER: it will be a cellphone-less ceremony. Cory is on several government watchlists and is worried the CIA may triangulate his position using your phones if you have them out during the ceremony. We will happily share photos after the wedding so please, no cell phones or other cameras. Our photographers are authorized to shoot on sight.
What to expect following the ceremony?
We're keeping it short and sweet, baby. Cocktail hour immediately after ceremony with appetizers, then dinner followed by dessert and dancing, ending around 9:00PM. Guests may stay later but, as it will be a full moon, will be required to participate in some sort of full moon ritual or perhaps a seance.
Will there be parking?
Yes, there will be free parking at the venue. If you don't want the free parking, you can pay Cory (cash, all $100 bills, in a briefcase) and then it will no longer be free.
What kind of lodging is available?
For guests arriving out of town, there are options for all preferences including hotels, campgrounds, and Airbnbs. A few options are be linked below. No, you may not stay with us in the honeymoon suite.
